Update Blog - 7/13/19

When I deal with legal stuff it's usually from YouTube's dumb copyright system (which I unfortunately got a strike this week because of my Gnomeo & Juliet review), but I never thought I would go deep on a money laundering case when talking about an animated film! But other than talking about questionable legalities of movies, I also did other stuff this week.

- Released my editorial of Legends of Oz: It's about time we can finally say that some people should legitimately be arrested for making an animated film :P But in all seriousness, this was a video that really put my researching abilities to the test where I go deep into not just the behind the scenes of a movie, but also elements of economics and law. I remember reading this interesting article from The Wrap (which I used as my source a lot for this video) back in 2014 and it stuck with me how unnaturally insane this production was. It wasn't until just some months ago when I did the Top 10 Biggest Box Office Bombs that the memories of this movie all came back and all the insane ways that it tried to make money. Considering that it's certain that there won't be any more follow-ups to Legends of Oz and everyone forgot this even existed, it's time to fully put it on the spotlight and call it for what it is: a $100 million scam. I did get some help from friends who referred to me about the similar controversy with the making of The Wolf of Wall Street, but this turned out to be a project that I am very proud of creating and hope it can shed some light regarding what happened to the creators of the movie and if (maybe) some justice can be served. But more importantly, I do hope you you enjoyed it because I did work very hard on this one.

- Created an AniMat's Classic Review: When I was finished with the upcoming Top 10, I decided to hop into a smaller project before heading into something big again. I had some time and I knew what will be next, so I made one upcoming episode of AniMat's Classic Reviews. My one comment I could say what I just reviewed here is that...well, this ain't The Lion King, that's for sure! It's the kind I had more fun making the review then I did to watch the movie XP Either way, I am happy to get that one out of the way and hope it turned out to be an entertaining review. Stay tuned because we got a lot more animals to review!

- Created a new AniMat Interviews: This was a project that came a bit unexpected, but I've been communicating with someone for a few weeks and we ended up in a position to collaborate on an interview. The talks began with a little conflict, but then after a bit of chatting, we sorted things out and now doing this project as a mutual partnership. It's a real fascinating look into this guy's perspective to have his thoughts out in the public and a bit of his life as well. The only thing I will say about him is that it is someone I've recently talked about in one of my videos. You'll be seeing this one very soon as it will be next week's video. Originally, it was going to be the next AniMat Watches, but that will be delayed until next month. There's also gonna be an Update Vlog next week, which I also did this week. Just so you know ;)

- Writing another Editorial: Now that I made my big editorial on Legends of Oz, it's time to make another! (Why not? I really enjoy making those and they turned out to be very strong videos) This one, however, won't be as crazy or require advanced research as much as the one from this week. This is a subject I took from that recent poll I made here that will be part-history, part-opinion based as it will be about the making of the project and why people are still fascinated by it to this day. It will be like the editorial I did months ago about the cancelled Ripley's Believe It or Not! movie...in fact, it will be A LOT like that one. I'm currently just working on the script to make sure the writing is all good, so next week will be mostly devoted to putting everything together with the recording and editing.

And that should make the case of this week closed. Now I know how Dorothy felt when she left Oz and feel happy to be back home. But I better relax while I can. Next week I'll have to prepare myself to take my place in the Circle of Life. So until next time...
