Update Blog - 8/15/20
Sometimes, when last-minute changes occur that's out of your control and you got still that's only good for a specific time, you have to improvise and think of something quick to deliver something that people would like to check out. This happened to me a few times this year (thanks to the pandemic delaying plenty of movies) and what I brought out this week was an example of that, but in terms of my released videos and what I'm doing right now.
- Released my Tour of my Blu-ray/DVD Collection: Over the years, I've had a lot of people ask me regarding my collection of DVDs and Blu-rays, especially after I made those Top 10 videos about them a few years back. I've always considered doing one at some point, but I always felt maybe I should wait at a good moment, like when the time feels right. However, now with movie schedules being changed because of the pandemic and leaving me with open slots for those weeks, I decided why not and take the time to actually just do it. Also, this is my first time using my phone to go as my camera when showing around my collection and the results, I'll admit, are not bad. Granted, I won't be replacing my camera for this, but if ever I'm in a situation where I have to go portable and film where there are some tight areas, then I'll definitely be using this (but I'll remember to make room for the memory). I'm not surprised that people are asking about certain films I do own (especially regarding my Bad Movie Dungeon), but if people have been demanding to see my collection, then hopefully, this is what they wanted.
- Released the new Q&A with AniMat: This was a surprise that I've collected a good bunch of questions. So much so that the first round of questions I've collected ended up being about twice as much as the ones I've ultimately answered, and that was not easy at all to find the best ones. As a result, the Q&A turned out to be a real fun mix of miscellaneous questions to figure out good answers to, including having a chance to talk about some voice acting tips (probably the first time I promoted my VO website in a video). Funny enough, this was a little tougher to record and I had to do several takes of some in order to get my words out right, even recording in two big parts. But I've managed to cut it down to a good amount that results in a fun video. We'll see if next time, I'll get some great questions like these and nail the recording to make editing a lot easier for myself.
- Finished editing the next part of AL: Walt Disney Animation Studios +: After all this time. Debatably, it took a bit longer than planned, but I've finally managed to finish the next part and it's ready to go! I knew I made the right move to take out that one extra movie I wrote about, because now the length seems to be just right for an AL:WDAS+ video (plus I'm now a bit ahead on the the part after this one). There are some moments where editing was fun and added some nice little bits of my own, so Logan won't be the only one to bring out some highlights. It's funny that I'm only putting out the movies of the year 2000, yet I feel very happy of how strong this came out and the amount of unique trivia these features can offer. Coming this month, AL is entering the new millenium!
- Currently working on my review of The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run: You all asked, and I guess I'll have to do it. For the first time in over 5 months, I'm going back to my local theatre to check out the latest animated feature, the 3rd SpongeBob Movie. even as a SpongeBob fan myself, I honestly don't know what to expect out of this one. The animation in the trailers look neat, but in terms of how it will be, I don't know. Hard to imagine it'll be up in the ranks of the first film, but hopefully it can be as fun as the second. First off, I'll have to make sure I'm fully protected and to keep myself clean with sanitizers, then I'll focus on how the movie is. I got my masks and my mental alarm to keep my distance from people, do you?
- REMINDER FOR PATRONS $50+/MONTH: This month's Discord Chat will be happening on Sunday the 16th and at 2pm EST. Let me know if you're not available for either so I'll organize a quick chat.
And that should summarize what's been happening in my week. In fact, for the next few weeks, things should be as scheduled with reviews and more AL parts, so don't expect surprises like this anytime soon...at least for now...or maybe the reviews themselves will contain surprises...Anyways, until next time...
See ya later, dudes!
